Raga attributions for film songs, ghazals, and semi-classical pieces are often disputed. Composers may draw from a raga without strictly adhering to it. Treat these as approximate — we show a confidence indicator on each entry.

Jogiya is associated with the life of yogis and ascetics. It has a mystical, devotional character and is performed in the early morning.
Legend & Lore
Jogiya — 'jogi' being the vernacular for a wandering yogi or Shaivite ascetic — is an early morning raga of the Bhairav thaat that paints a vivid musical portrait of the renunciant's life: wandering at the liminal hour before sunrise, indifferent to worldly attachment, absorbed in the divine.
Like Bhairav, it uses komal Re and komal Dha, which give it the characteristic flat-interval sonority of the pre-dawn Bhairav family — a sound often described as grey, cool, and spiritually vast.
Jogiya is closely associated with the nirgun bhajan singing of the Sant tradition, and compositions attributed to Kabir, Ravidas, and Nanak are frequently rendered in this raga.
Its mystic character has also made it a natural vehicle for expressing Sufi themes of annihilation of the self in the divine.
